We definitely hit some rocks and logs but yesterday we made the first turns of the season. There was about 18 inches of pow up high which is about the lowest amount that you want to ski on. Hopefully it will be a great season!

Bacalar lake is a freshwater paradise very close to the Belize border in Mexico. It’s dubbed “the lake of the 7 blues” by the locals and it definitely lives up to that title.

It had been a steady dose of snow and rain since we returned from Mexico a few days ago. I decided to take a break from the computer yesterday morning when the skies cleared to see if I could find some fall colors to shoot against the fresh white mountains. I could not believe how many patches of beautiful Aspens and Scrub Oak that are still out there. After I got back from my little outing we got socked in again and it looks like it’s going to stay that way for a little while so I’m glad I made it out when I did.

I just returned from another great visit to the Yucatan in Mexico. We flew in during a hurricane but the weather turned out to be perfect after the first evening. We split our time between snorkeling, swimming, and a heavy dose of fly-fishing. I will post more images from the trip in the coming days.

The Wilson Mesa trail is single track heaven for mountain biking. Yesterday was a crazy day for weather and we timed this just right to capture the sun and blue sky. As we were packing up the skies opened up on us with hail, winds, and rain.

This was the last photo I took before my camera jumped in the water. I think it was a 20 second exposure right around dusk on Bilk Creek. I really like the vibrant green of the moss on the rocks with the scattered yellow leaves.

I took this shot with my new little point and shoot camera yesterday up at Woods Lake while guiding a photo tour. The colors in the Telluride Valley are gone but the surrounding area is still hanging on. I would love to get back up there and shoot this scene with a fly fisherman but it’s raining pretty hard out now so it could be the end of our fall…

I was getting out and shooting quite a bit with the peak fall colors until my camera went for a swim in the creek. Now I’m playing with a new point and shoot and an old camera with a few fixed lenses. The photo above was taken with the panoramic feature of the new Olympus Stylus Tough 6020. Very fun to play with but I can’t wait to get my good camera gear back!
