We have had a storm hovering over us for the past five days that started to break up at dusk tonight.  I hiked up the the north-east side of town to get a bit of an aerial perspective and did some long exposers this evening.  This image is around a 2 minute exposure.

I have been working on some prints for a show at the local coffee house next month and these are my b&w selections so far.  I think I’m going to dohalf b&w and half color.  I’m excited to see these guys as big prints!

A Long Break

I read somewhere that letting the weather effect your mood is a sign of weakness.  Well, the people of Telluride must be extremely weak.  We have been watching other ski areas around the country getting pounded with snow as we just pick up a measly few inches per storm.  Our entire way of life revolves around the snow we receive in the winter and we now realize how lucky we have been the last few years.  Yesterday afternoon we finally saw some thick flakes and today the snow is starting to build.  There are smiles on the faces of locals and the cynical “March” attitude in December is starting to fade.  Hopefully we get the powder that everyone has been praying for and face shots on Gold Hill are in the near future.

Well, that’s the main reason why I have not been posting as of late, not much to shoot and I have been logging many hours on the computer.  The shot above is from the San Miguel river at dusk the other night looking down valley.

I hope to get out shooting a lot more now and hopefully will have some good pics to post.
