Icy Reflection
Here is another image from my quick backpacking trip the other day. I love the look that the icy water gives to this photo.

After getting shut down on a bunch of backpacking attempts lately due to snow I finally had success. I had to hike through a lot of snow and cross some dangerous slopes but it was well worth it for a unique look at an alpine lake just starting to ice out.
There is certainly no shortage of running water around the Telluride area with all the high snowpack coming down with high temps. What you are not seeing in this photo is the loads of snow just above this scene. There were 3 skiers coming down to the left of us when we were shooting this. Seems like the high country is never going to open up…
It’s hard to believe that this shot of biking through some vibrant wildflowers was taken just the other night as there is snow on the ground and it’s actively snowing as I write this.
It’s been awhile since my last post but I’m back in the game now. Summer is kicking into full gear in the San Juan’s although the high country still has too much snow for hiking. The photo above is from just outside Norwood Colorado last night. I was shooting this wildflower meadow with Lone Cone in the background a little after sunset and these Deer were kind enough to walk into the scene.
