This is another shot from my Wyoming fishing trip last week. We were camped in the high desert above a spectacular trout creek one night when we got some really cool clouds just after dusk. This is a long exposure of the Sage bushes a little while after the sun went down.
I just returned from a great fly fishing trip to Southern Wyoming. The fishing was out of this world and we had areas like the above photo all to ourselves. I think this area rivals Montana for the best trout fishing in the continental US. I can’t wait to get back up there…

I’m back in Telluride after epic winds drove me out of the desert. The weather this off-season has been awful and now we have 50 mile an hour winds with a forest fire! Well, I guess I will be logging some more computer time….
I finally had enough of hiking while getting snowed on in Telluride so I hit the road in search of warmer weather. I’m in south-central Utah and the weather is perfect!. The photo above is a desert bloom in between Hanksville and Capital Reef national park. I’m blown away sometimes where colorful flowers can sprout out of.
Here is another from my Mexico trip. This is a long exposure taken at dusk with a 3 stop soft edge graduated neutral density filter. The rather large waves rolling in were perfect for a long exposure.
Here is another one from Mexico. We camped 3 nights at Punta Mosquitero on our way up to Punta Herrero on the Costa Maya. Here rick is casting for Bonefish in the flats just off the point.
I rolled back into snowy Telluride yesterday, putting on many layers trying to deal with the cold. The Mexico trip was amazing! We found some remote places with great fishing and local flavor. The photo above is from Punta Herrero, my favorite place in Mexico. It’s a little sleepy fishing villages far removed from any development and gringos. We spent three nights here kayaking around the expansive flats of Espirito bay in search of Bonefish. I’m already making plans to get back to this little gem.
Out of all the times I have been to the Indian Creek area I have mostly spent my time on the cliffs climbing and had not explored the backcountry much. On this trip we did some great hikes, exploring canyons, towers and mesa’s. The photo above in Brooke high above Indian Creek on an early morning adventure.
