Telluride Magazine summer/fall 2010 Cover
I’m excited to have the Telluride Magazine cover for this summer. The shot was from a great hike in August of last summer up the rarely climbed East Sheep mountain.

I’m back in Telluride after epic winds drove me out of the desert. The weather this off-season has been awful and now we have 50 mile an hour winds with a forest fire! Well, I guess I will be logging some more computer time….
I finally had enough of hiking while getting snowed on in Telluride so I hit the road in search of warmer weather. I’m in south-central Utah and the weather is perfect!. The photo above is a desert bloom in between Hanksville and Capital Reef national park. I’m blown away sometimes where colorful flowers can sprout out of.
It was a gloomy day today so I took advantage of the low light with some long exposure fly fishing shots just down from town.
A great sunset on the Valley Floor looking towards Telluride last night. There has been a herd of Elk down by the river in the evenings but unfortunately they were over to the right on the edge of the forest. Maybe next time…
Here is another from my Mexico trip. This is a long exposure taken at dusk with a 3 stop soft edge graduated neutral density filter. The rather large waves rolling in were perfect for a long exposure.
Here is another one from Mexico. We camped 3 nights at Punta Mosquitero on our way up to Punta Herrero on the Costa Maya. Here rick is casting for Bonefish in the flats just off the point.
I went for a big ski tour today up Cross mountain in the Wilson range. The ski turned into a 6 hour epic and I’m pretty worked right now! I have done Cross mountain in the summer but it’s quite the adventure skiing it. The photo above is Mike Skinning to the saddle in between Lizard head and the Wilson range shortly before we gained the ridge to climb Cross mountain. The mountains behind him are 14,246 ft Mt Wilson and 13,913 Gladstone.
I rolled back into snowy Telluride yesterday, putting on many layers trying to deal with the cold. The Mexico trip was amazing! We found some remote places with great fishing and local flavor. The photo above is from Punta Herrero, my favorite place in Mexico. It’s a little sleepy fishing villages far removed from any development and gringos. We spent three nights here kayaking around the expansive flats of Espirito bay in search of Bonefish. I’m already making plans to get back to this little gem.
