Palmayra Peak
A bluebird powder day in Telluride! Today was a great day on the resort with a fresh dump and sunny skies, hard to beat. The photo above is a hiker on the ridge to ski Palmayra peak on the Telluride Ski Resort.

Wow what a great day! We were forecasted for only 1-3 inches and ended up with about foot of snow. The skiing today was exceptional.
Well it took a long time but Telluride finally got a big storm. The skiing has been amazing over the last few days with close to 2 feet of fluffy pow. Hopefully we are now in a good storm pattern and will keep on getting the goods.
Made it out for a great ski yesterday as we keep getting little storms every 2-3 days. The photo above is Mike Munno skiing waterfall chute in Bear Creek. To get this shot I had to hike out on top of the cliff and then hold onto a branch with my left hand as I hang out over the cliff and shoot Mike skiing down the chute, very fun. We have less then a week of the Telluride Ski Resort being open and it looks like the good skiing should hold through.
Rain gave way to snow thursday evening and we woke to 3-5 inches of fresh powder and the mountains looked like winter again. The image above is Mike Munno getting powder turns down the shoulder of Little Rose on Gold Hill.
This is another image from Wednesdays powder fest. It’s going to get up to 50+ degrees today so our nice new snow is getting sun baked and heavy. It’s almost looking like it’s time to go ride and climb in the desert. I’m hoping for one more winter storm before the end of the season…
There is nothing better then getting a big storm followed by a sunny warm day in the mountains. It happens only a few times each season and they tend to be the best days for skiing photography. The temperature crept up near 50 degrees yesterday but the snow was still soft and light making for some perfect powder skiing.
